Christmas Day was celebrated in Nepal.

Today is Merry Christmas Day. People from Christian community around the world are celebrating the festival with a fanfare. Similarly, people from Christian community in Nepal are also celebrating the festival.



Likewise, The Christian communities are celebrating the Christmas Day to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. Christian community believe that Jesus Christ was born to Lady Maryam and the angel forecasted the birth of Jesus so as to rescue the human beings. The community also has a faith that Jesus sacrificed himself to liberate human beings from injustice, unfair and discrimination as well.

As per the tradition followed by the Christian community to celebrate the greatest festival on December 25 every year Christians offer prayers and adoration to Jesus after drinking grape juice and cutting cakes. On the occasion of Merry Christmas, Nepali people following the tradition are also marking the festival with organizing different programs in the capital and all over the nation.

On the occasion, people gathered in the popular places of Kathmandu like World Trade Center, Civil Mall, Kathmandu Mall, City Center, China Town, Bhatbhateni and others where they have exchanged Happy Christmas and celebrated the festival. The popular places are decorated with Christmas Tree and different flowers.
